We start every new candidate with a discovery call. We’ll discuss all things Home Improvement Sales. We’ll talk about the demanding lifestyle, high expectations, and inevitable challenges. We give everyone our Home Improvement “Design Consultant” E-Guide. This 19 page E-Guide shares what a day in the life of a consultant looks like, what they can realistically expect to earn and when, and HOW to determine IF they are a good fit for this industry/lifestyle. WE know this career is not for everyone, so we give them every opportunity to OPT OUT before wasting their time or yours.
The attributes we look for are:
1. ATTITUDE: Positive, glass is ALWAYS full, ATTITUDE.
2. APTITUDE: for problem solving, critical thinking, and basic fast math.
3. ALTITUDE: Do they have the ambition to reach new heights through effort and efficiency.
• We conduct (4) weekly coaching calls answering all their questions around the lifestyle, product offerings available, sales expectations, challenges they’ll face, how to start strong, how to stay positive during a slump, and so much more!
• We also guide them through a faux interview so when you finally get the chance to interview them, they’ll feel comfortable and more easily open up during your interview – so you can more easily see if they’re a good fit or not.
